I’ve never been too crazy about Valentine’s Day. Perhaps it is the emphasis on gifts that I don’t like, maybe it is the commercial aspect of the whole thing, or maybe it is the corny advertisements. Either way, it’s always felt like a made up holiday.
This year, I chose to take a look at Valentine’s Day through a different lens. Rather than focusing on “things”, I decided to look at February 14th as an opportunity. An opportunity to tell not just one person, but all of the special people I know how lucky I feel to have them in my life. It is an opportunity to thank those special people for helping me get through it all, both good and bad. Because deep down, when boiled to its fine core, that is what Valentine’s Day is; it is a day of appreciation and gratitude.
Take some time to thank all of those helpful flies in your own life and tell them how much you love them. Happy Valentine’s Day!
One Love!
