Good Morning, SuperForest!
You may or may not recognize this adorable little seed drawn by the very talented SuperForester Jackson, so if it’s new to you, let me explain!
Last year SuperForesters everywhere banded together to save a seed! Led by SuperForesters Jackson and Patricia, SuperForesters donated a total of $3000 to save a plant species from extinction, as part of the Kew Gardens Millennium Seed Bank Project in the U.K.
After seeing such an inspiring effort, I decided to launch my own seed-saving campaign on my food blog, After the Harvest.
I posted my declaration on After the Harvest and SuperForest for all to see, and hoped for the best. Roughly 9 months later, my seed-saving project isn’t doing too well. That’s where you come in! I would love it if SuperForesters would help me accomplish this goal. I know we can harness our collective power to make this happen again!
For those of you who are new to this project, here’s your chance to help make a difference! To read more about SuperForest’s seed-saving success, you can check out this awesome post:
The Thrilling Conclusion of the Save-a-Seed Project!
All donations through After the Harvest are secure because they are linked to PayPal. My goal is to raise $3000 so I can save a plant species, just like SuperForest did! Plant-based food is a vital part of life, and through After the Harvest, I do my best to promote local, seasonal and sustainable eating.
How Can you Help?
All you need to do is come visit After the Harvest, and click on our little seed buddy that you see above — he is hiding out on the left hand sidebar just waiting to be saved!
And….this is not only a win-win-win for After the Harvest, SuperForest and Kew Gardens, but it’s also a win for our planet….and it could be a bonus win for you, as well!!!
I have decided to give away a prize to the first SuperForester who donates to my Save-a-Seed campaign! I’m no Jackson Nash, but I recently created a piece of art, and I’d like to give it to the first person who donates!
This piece is a series of 3 small paintings, each one painted at the same time. The idea was to do a meditative painting exercise where I try to create something abstract, yet also symmetrical and uniform. It doesn’t currently have a name, but I’m open to name suggestions!
Thank you, SuperForest! I also hope you share this on your own blogs and social networks to spread the word, and when I reach my goal, I hope to enlist the help of SuperForester Patricia and her cheque-designing friend to help me present my gift to Kew Gardens!
Yours in support of all plant life on earth,
SuperForester Heather
