Wildlife Photographer of the Year

Good afternoon SuperForest,

This weekend, an interesting thought struck me. Every day, while I sit at my desk staring into my monitor, many others, all over the world, are in pursuit of the perfect wildlife photograph. They laboriously trek through lush rainforest, swim with pink river dolphins in Brazil, and wait in freezing temperatures with little else but their cameras to capture, what they hope will be, that once-in-a-lifetime shot.

Now in its 46th year, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is an international showcase for the very best nature photography. Check out some of the incredible entries online here. Seeing these images exhibited at the Australian Museum this past weekend was so inspiring. We’re sharing this planet with the most incredible creatures and, really, what a privilege that is!

The Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is owned by the Natural History Museum and BBC Wildlife Magazine.

In awe of nature,
April
