Buzz Aldrin & Super Mario Team Up Against Gravity

Being the second man on the moon = Priceless.
Being the second man on the moon who gets to float weightless with the most iconic video game character of all time? = Pricelesser.
Has to be seen to be believed. (Scroll down)

We can’t honestly think of who this situation is the most surreal for. The man in the Mario suit, Buzz Aldrin, the cameraman, or any of the onlookers.

From Nintendo: Mario, Nintendo’s iconic video game character, and Dr. Buzz Aldrin float in zero-gravity atmosphere to train for Mario’s upcoming game set in space, Super Mario Galaxy for Wii on November 03, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.”

Train Buzz, train!
We absolutely adore Buzz Aldrin. Here’s a little known fact: He’s made of titanium from the waist up. Wow!

Hawk In Space

Someone’s got a great sense of humor.

This year, Stephen Hawking got a ride on the “Vomit Comet”. For those of you who are unfamiliar, the V.C. is a specially outfitted Boeing 727 which climbs very high into the sky, and then plummets downward, providing the simulation of weightlessness.
So, Stephen Hawking, the God of Theoretical Physics, the man who literally wrote the book on Gravity, goes up and gets to fly weightless, free from all earthly tethers, and someone had the presence of mind to toss an apple into the frame. A delightful nod to Newton.

This photo is one of the reasons why I love humans so much.

Have a great weekend. Be excellent to each other.
