SuperForester Akela Presents: Love and Freedom

SuperForest! The following comes from one of my favourite blogs, Miracle Mile Mind! These young women have a way of bringing life to words that allows me to get lost in whatever they write. This particular piece is astounding, and I know you all will throughly enjoy. Thank you sisters from Miracle Mile Mind! Keep doing what you do! Love, SuperForester Mathew

This weekend, I saw the play Rent performed at Drexel University. I also watched the movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona for the first time. Although very different stories, the two works got me thinking a lot about the transience of love and what exactly brings it to us, keeps it with us, and lets it drift away from us. Superforester Drake’s post – On Remembering – about love also got me thinking a lot.

After returning from the play last night, ideas were flooding my brain so I scribbled the little I could articulate into a very rarely used journal. Here is some of what came out:

Vicky Cristina Barcelona makes it apparent the chaotic and wrenching passion that is love. With any being, anywhere, at any time. To love is to weave the tendrils of your soul with those of another. through words, through touch, through breath.

Love is fleeting.

You can love a stranger. You can feel a connection, a short surge of pure feeling directed at or near another being. A moment of your auras rolling off one another, a moment that can disintegrate just as quickly as it forms. It can be love.
That love can keep rolling and changing and growing and persisting, tugging at you to keep it afloat and alive.
When this happens, some consider marriage. Some move in together. Some just keep flowing while they can.

When that love begins to evade you and slowly floats away, it leaves an ache, a sadness that you’ve lose that inexplicably incredible interconnectedness with another being. However, it always exists. It lingers in a lower energy, maybe as a friendship, or as a tense acquaintance. But that connection, it always persists and exists as a mark of your presence in that love. It never goes away, it stays in whatever form you allow it.

To accept that fleeting nature of love, to accept its tendencies to flow and ebb, to bob and sink through different levels of our souls is to exist in equality with it, to live in flow with that love.

To be the most honest, true, revealed expression of your soul in that love is to be the most fulfilled and exhilarated that you can be. To give yourself wholly to that which is love, with no reservations, no fears, no preconceived notions about dating or marriage or sex or when to text someone or how fast to respond. To truly, truly let yourself fold inside out and expose all the dark, cold, skeptical corners and rivers of your being- to let those pieces be painted and flooded with love. To flow with the truest freedom that exists – that of yourself.

Freedom is everything. It is the truth and honesty and genuinity that flow in with the tides of that love. Love and freedom coexist in a symbiosis. To be certain, they flow into your conscious life together. One allowing the other, and vice versa. When freedom leaves, love may follow for it cannot exist in its most beautiful self without the full freedom of your own self.

Love may stay and ache and when freedom returns, love can be cleansed and flow to a lower or higher energy just as peacefully as it entered in the first place.

Being fully free through each layer of your conscious mind and your soul, to let that freedom seep into each layer of your body, into each dusty or sparkling space in your being- this allows love to heal itself into whatever form it is meant to exist.

To love and to be free, to be free and to love. to let freedom and love flow into and out of one another into a genuine and pure infinity. To expel yourself of all that is not freedom and love, what does that mean to you?

I hope that made sense at all, as I was writing i let the feelings roll into my hands without checking too much for the sensical part. I’m still exploring the parts about freedom, so more to come later.
