Look! little tiger-skin coats!
Goood Morning SuperForest!
My lovely mother keeps sending me these cute “unlikely animal friends” emails, and they keep making me go “Awww!”
So here we go, momma tiger lost three tiger cubs in delivery, and piglets had no pig momma, so put ‘em together and hope for the best…
Yaaayyy! Cross-species friendship!
A pretty bow, and a kiss for Mommy.
We CAN all just get along :)
Like tiger and piggy.
Let tiger and piggy be an example to us all.
Put on your smiling faces, SuperForesters. This one will get you grinnin’
My dear sweet mother, SuperForester Susan, just sent me an email about Leo the lion, Shere Khan the tiger, and Baloo the bear, who were all rescued by police in Georgia from some jive turkeys who’d decided to keep them as pets. Brought to Noah’s Ark Animal Rescue Center in Locust Grove, the three became fast friends and now live together in peace!
Says Diane Smith, Assistant director at Noah’s Ark:
“We could have separated them, but since they came as a kind of family, the zoo decided to keep them together. To our knowledge, this is the only place where you’ll find this combination of animals together.”
“Baloo and Shere Khan are very close,” says Diane. “That is because they rise early, and as Leo is a lion, he likes to spend most of the day sleeping. It is wonderful and magical to see a giant American Black Bear put his arm around a Bengal and then to see the tiger nuzzle up to the bear like a domestic cat.”
Ha! Early risers with sharp incisors! Lulz.
All three animals are considered natural enemies, but take them to a place where their needs are taken care of and watch as the former enemies become fast friends… Interesting. That gives me a lot of hope for peace among humans. Take care of people’s needs and watch as they treat each other as friends. Simple enough :)
Cheers Mom, for sending this in, and cheers to whoever wrote it up in the first place!
Check out Noah’s Ark. They rad!
