Listen up, SuperForesters,
You heard Luc and the Lovingtons describe the Fremont LoveFest 2010 event in the last part of Part II and most of Part III of SuperForester Jeremy’s interview, but being that it seems like such an amazing event, I thought it deserved a post of its own. Here’s how Jeremy described the event for us…
“Fremont LoveFest 2010 is a community organized festival ran on the power of love. There’s a lot of big name funk, rock, soul, reggae, and hip-hop groups coming together to spread the message of the power of a loving community joining hands to celebrate. The festival seeks to reduce its footprint by providing free water to all attendees by using water filters created by the University of Seattle’s Engineers Without Borders, so plastic water bottles do not have to be used. In addition, the proceeds from the festival will go back into the Fremont/Seattle community by helping to support local non-profits like R.O.A.R. which is an organization that seeks to eliminate homelessness in the Seattle community.”
Sounds pretty incredible, right? And what’s more incredible is the musical lineup that they were able to put together for the event! The 2010 Fremont LoveFest will feature performances including that of Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Luc and the Lovingtons, Flowmotion, and several others! If you’re in the Seattle area, it definitely seems like it’s an event you definitely don’t want to miss because it’s oozing with the sweet nectar of SuperForest-ness. And if that wasn’t enough to convince you to go, in the last bit of Jeremy’s interview, we were all given a coupon for purchasing your tickets which expires at the end of THIS EVENING. All you’ve gotta do is enter “FREMONTLOVEFESTFRIENDS” when it asks for your discount code when ordering tickets and it will take $5 off your advanced ticket price. (Win!)
And because this song title was oh-so-fitting (and because the video is absolutely beautiful), I’ll leave you with Luc and the Lovingtons‘ “Come on Down”!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, no matter where you may be!
Love,
Carla
