Good Afternoon, SuperForesters!
For the longest time, I’ve been playing around with the idea of a “SuperForest Street Team“. Time and time again, I’ve mentioned it on the site. And time and time again, I’ve thought of possible projects or missions we could try to accomplish. But for some reason or another, be it lack of time or maybe just plain ol’ intimidation, this always got post-poned.
No longer.
As I mentioned to you before, SuperForest turns three toward the end of this month. Therefore, I thought this is the perfect time for me to put aside any doubts about the huge “Street Team” concept and is the perfect time for all of us to join together to celebrate all that we love about SuperForest and show our appreciation toward it by collaborating in creating what is sure to be a huge part of SuperForest history.
When brainstorming our first street team mission, I knew I wanted it to be based off of the cornerstone of what this blog is all about: The Humanifesto. And then it hit me…
The Mission: Create a SuperForest Birthday Video
That’s right SuperForesters, for SuperForest’s 3rd birthday, we’re going to make a video together; a video featuring a bunch of us (as in, SuperForesters across the globe) reciting the Humanifesto. Each participating individual will record themselves saying the lines they’ve been assigned to read and then send that to us. SuperForesters Chris and I will then take all of the received video files and edit them together to create one beautiful flowing video featuring the priceless treasures of what this blog’s all about.
Requirements: Apart from facing the camera and speaking clearly, you each have full creativity to make your clip as creative as you want it to be. Shoot it outdoors, indoors, with a friend, it’s entirely up to you. As far as equipment goes, all you need a video recording device, and to find some way of sending a 15-30 second video clip to SuperForest (Email attachments, File Transfers through Instant Messaging, etc.). But we’ll figure all of that out later.
How to Participate: If you are interested in being a part of this video, please send us an email at contact [at] superforest [dot] org to let us know you want in on the action or if you have any questions. Simple as that.
Deadlines: SuperForest’s birthday is on October 22nd, this is the date on which we’d like to share the video. Therefore, we kindly ask that you submit your email stating that you want to participate by October 12th. On this date, we will assign you your lines. After this, you must submit your video no later than October 18th. That gives us a few days to edit, and if all goes well, hopefully Chris and I will be able to make it in time for the premiere date!
I’m really excited about this, and already, we’ve got an incredible line-up of participants including SuperForesters:
Iman, Julius, Mathew, Jesse, Jackie, Ewa, Jaell, Amy, Patricia, Drake, Heather, Chris, Jordan, Aaron, Lena, Erik, Maureen, Jeremy, Afshawn, Tawney, Tricia, Billy, and Jason.
Now the only thing that’s missing is your name! And I really hope you’ll consider participating in this mission because I’m sure this will be something we’ll always treasure. It’s going to be great. I can already feel it.
