Hey all!
You may remember me putting up a post including the short film, The Danish Poet a few days ago. If not, I recommend watching it:
Anyway, the reason I bring this short film up once more from the depths of SuperForest past is that I realized we had received a comment from SuperForester Erik who dropped some serious insight about the video. Hopefully he doesn’t mind me sharing his great comment. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did:
Thanks for showing this! For creating this ‘coincidental-but-maybe-not-so-coincidental’ experience. I watched it, leaving me with nothing but the thought ‘what a nice story’. But eventually, as hours passed, it kept coming back and back in my head, getting more interesting every time it asked for some attention.
Untill it striked again, and I finally got inspired today. A sense of happiness came over me! You created the ‘inspiration’ that Kasper went looking for in Norway! Thanks! It’s a deep story. Much deeper than the description the makers put there [there is, however, always the question if creators of art conciencely put the 100s of meanings/interpretations in their art, or people simply attach their current thoughts, lifestyles and ideas to it!].
I can see how one could interpret this as ‘everything happens for a reason’, but I’d rather say, ‘everything happens for some reason that eventually leads to something good’. Much more complicated, and less-cliché-esque, but that is what this movie shows in my opinion!
And beyond, it’s an allegory of the every-day search for happiness and inspiration. Of creating goals to reach inspiration and a clear mind. Of how people can become distracted and find happiness in things not planned before. A story that tells us that coincidences, or signs, appear in the form of good things (books) but bad things as well (broken thumbs). Everything happens for a reason indeed! Everything happens for a *darn good* reason leading up to darn good things (that Ingeborg was hot ;))!
There’s so much more in there, but I guess everyone should think it over for themselves. Wisdom acquired from analyzing yourself makes you so much wiser than someone else telling you!
Though, okay, just a last one, they tell you how people can share their ‘Joy & Happiness’ to enlighten so much others around them. The reason I take a look at this blog every day!
Peace out!
Love,
iman
