Spezify: An Inspired Search Tool!

spezify1

Sometimes, I feel like some websites were designed specifically with “help others waste time” in mind. Though a lot of time can be spent on this site/search engine, I believe it’s awesomeness makes up for it.

I learned about Spezify about a month ago and was thoroughly intrigued by it. Wolfram|Alpha is a computational knowledge engine. Spezify is pretty much the opposite. Rather than presenting information systematically and conveniently, Spezify presents a myriad of search results from a large number of websites in different visual ways (and it is awesome).

Check out what resulted when I searched “SuperForest”!!!

Snazzy! It found flickr pictures, vimeo vids, tweets! Oh man, this thing is too addicting. I’ve searched everything from parrots to spiderman in the past half hour. You’ve got to check it out for yourself, here!

Sayeth the Spezify folk:

We take web search further, away from endless lists of blue text links and towards a more intuitive experience.
We want you to get a good overview of a subject,
find useful information and be inspired with Spezify.

We mix all media types and make no difference
between blogs, videos, microblogs and images.
Everything communicates and helps building the bigger picture.

Yay, Spezify! Yay, internet!

SuperForester Annette Presents: Good Search

Oooooooh!

The amazing miss SuperForester Annette just sent us word of Good Search.

Good Search is a search engine where you enter in your favorite charity, then search for whatever you need, and… Good Search gives money to the charity you chose!

How simple is that?

I just googled “nutmeg” for Kiva. It took three seconds.

How “now” is the sentence: “I just googled nutmeg for kiva.”

That should be our slogan, yo!

SuperForest: We just googled nutmeg for kiva.

Check out Good Search. They’ve combined curiosity and philanthropy into one friendly app.

Search good with Good Search!

Here’s the Good Search wiki.

Thank you, Annette!
