Good Samaritan of the Day: Roland Roos and his “Free Repair” Project!

For two years, artist (and humanitarian and fellow good-doer), Ronald Roos, has been roaming the streets of Europe and making repairs on broken, displaced, or damaged things in public places…for free. It’s all a part of his “Free Repair” project in which his unsolicited projects range from minor replacements to full blown structural restorations. To cover the cost of materials, Roos took before and after pictures of his work (something he calls “unicums”) and sells them for an estimated cost of the repair job.

This simple, yet brilliant project ended in April of this year, but it’s fair to say that Roos subtle and poetic delivery of the quasi-cliché “The World is Everyone’s Home” message is one that will stay with me for a much longer.

Much love goes out to Mr. Roos for that. And if you’d like to see more of his work and his other projects, you can check out his website, here.

Love!
