SuperForester Jackson’s post on mystifying robot gymnastics reminded me of a pair of robot videos that were brought to my attention by the lovely Kirsten Lepore, so I figured now would be a perfect time to share them. While Jackson’s post focused more on robot movement, this next pair of videos focuses more on robot emotions (yes, I just used those two words, “robot” and “emotions”, together). Not sure whether to love this or be thoroughly creeped out, but there is no denying the fact that what you are about to see is simply amazing!
Behold, the Japanese robot teacher:
Whoa. Knowing the shenanigans my classmates would pull on substitute teachers back in the day, I’m not sure this is the best idea, but it’s still pretty unbelievable.
Next up, we’ve got a robot that can feel pain. Yes, she is a robot, but let it be known that she expects to be treated with the courtesy and respect of a lady.
LOL. It’s so nice to see robots defend themselves against perverts.
Watching robots and their increasingly human characteristics is hypnotic.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
