Good Evening, SuperForest!
Last week, I found these incredible recycling awareness ribbons on swissmiss by the talented Ms. Mayari. The simplicity, the creativity, and the cheery vibrance of those ribbon pins was enough for me to fall in love with them instantly and I had to try make one myself. Today, I was finally able to get around to giving it a go. I began scavenging around recycling bins and the pantry to find some sort of scrap material to cut into strips and make the ribbons. Mayari used a juice carton. I ended up using a chicken broth carton.
Behold, the before:

Five minutes of measuring, cutting, and folding, later, abd this is what resulted:

Yaaay! This is the first one I made. It came out a bit small…okay it came out tiny, but I think that only adds to its wonderful charm. With a safety pin, it’ll be as good as gold.
Here is the instructional video on how to make one yourself:
Love!

P.S. To see more of Mayari’s re*creations, check them out here! There, you’ll find excellent products that are all practical, made from at least 50% rubbish, and are made entirely by hand. Mmmm! Our favorite!
