Patricia’s Journal (13/05/10) – Rainbow Connection

Hey SuperForest

I’ve been laid up in recent days with a stinky chest infection. Whilst tucked up in bed with my hot water bottle, Radio 4 and old West Wing dvds – alternating between my currently awesome Mutley impression and wondering if I could be Alison Janney when I grow up – and yeah, maybe feeling a little bit sorry for myself, I looked out the window and saw this:

you can almost see it too courtesy of my bad photography!

Yes, a rainbow!

What is it about rainbows that makes looking at them so exciting? Maybe the combination of the grand scale of their sky-painting and their ephemeral nature? Because they make something beautiful out of the impending rain? A sky-wide science experiment in the spectrum of light? Or maybe it’s because they’re pretty ;)

And it’s SuperForester Carla posted these way back in 2008, but this seems a nice excuse to revisit a muppet classic:

which SuperForester Jason’s done a nifty version of too

AND if you feel like there’s just not enough rainbows (or, um, unicorns) in your life (or internet browsing) – CORNIFY!
