This here is Christine Norrie, who is a rather excellent person and one definitely worth knowing.
I was lucky enough to make Christine’s acquaintance several years ago, when SuperForester Andrew asked her to use her prodigious gifts as an artist to mock up some storyboards.
When I moved to New York in March of 2007 and SuperForest was gearing up development as a children’s show, Christine came back into my life and we spent several happy months drawing and collaborating on some wonderful things that sadly might never see the light of day… But such is the development process.
Since that time, Christine and I have gotten to collaborate on many things, one of which we are getting set to introduce shortly, a brand new entry into the world of SuperForest Comics, our very own SuperForest SuperHero: Obaman!
(Basically, we’re saying that Obama probably has some pretty powerful magic powers and thankfully he uses them for good.)

What really makes Christine special is her incredible ability to spread thoughtfulness and compassion to everything that does. Everything this woman touches turns to goodness. She once told me a story about her daughter’s first day of school: How as the little girl walked down the stairs of her apartment building, one by one, doors opened and Christine’s neighbors appeared on their stoops to wish Josie a successful first day.
Perhaps this is how it works for everyone in Christine’s building, like it’s some magical love hive in the West Village, but I suspect it’s that Christine has simply done what she does best: spread the love. Spread the compassion. Spread the SuperForest. She made hand-drawn signs illustrating how the recycling system worked in her building and posted them up. When they were torn down, she redrew them and re-posted them. Her positivity and creativity are relentless and a joy to behold.
During the election, I would visit Spookoo in times of emotional turmoil and seeing the quality Pro-Bama work that Christine was doing never failed to both cheer me, and inspire me to post more, post better, post smarter.
Miss Norrie is a beacon of hope and talent, and I consider myself extremely lucky to call Christine my friend.
