Fist Jab! (Part 2)

Heyo!

About a year ago, SuperForester Jackson posted this picture:

I’m not sure what it was (the genuine smiles? the pure freshness?), but the image stayed with me for a long long time which is why I was taken aback when I saw this one taken only a few days ago:

Pow! I know there is a lot of mixed media about the President’s performance since taking office but there is no denying it… he’s still got style. : )

Love!

“Obama Weather”

Good Afternoon, SuperForest!

I’ve spent the past couple days researching the environmental characteristics of Downtown San Diego for a large presentation I had to give today. As part of my research, I was asked to look up the climate characteristics of Downtown and as a result, I researched a lot of weather websites…lots and lots of weather websites.  Due to these long hours of research, I thought I had pretty much seen it all when it came to this particular subject. But I was wrong…

So very wrong.

Check it out SuperForest, the image below is a part of “Obama Weather“, a site dedicated to not only give you weather forecasts, but suggestions on what sort of outfit to wear…and apparently there is no better person to demonstrate this other than our very own President.

Obama Weather: Encinitas, CA

LOLve! Man, this is one of those ideas that is so silly, it’s verging on cute. And if politics or the government aren’t really your thing, you can always opt for House to give you the weather rundown instead.

"House Weather": Encinitas, CA

Have a beautiful sunshiney day.

The Times They Are a-Changin’: President Obama and WhiteHouse.gov

Greetings Friends,

This morning I was busy exploring the president’s website and boy is it a treasure! Similar to the prior transitional Change.gov site, WhiteHouse.gov has just about all the information regarding the Executive Branch that you could ever ask for.  Did the previous Bush or Clinton administrations even have websites? haha, I’m sure they did but I can guarantee you they were nothing like this.

While poking around the site, I don’t know what made me happier; seeing the openness of information or finding that the “Contact Us” button was still up there.  Here’s an excerpt from the Blog (That’s right, a blog!!! Complete with an RSS Feed and all!!!)

On Friday, Vice President Biden and a half dozen members of the Cabinet head to Philadelphia for the first meeting of the Middle Class Task Force. The topic? Green jobs, and looking at some of the innovative programs in Philly and PA that are bringing together universities, labor, the community, and sustainable businesses. The task force will produce a report that we’ll share broadly and hope will contribute to this momentum.

And finally, don’t forget to check out the Powershift conference this weekend in DC. 10,000 youth organizers talking about climate and green jobs.

It is a good week for green jobs.

Exciting times yo!  It pleases me so much to see how technology is being implemented so intelligently in this administration.

If you are curious, or have some time to kill, check out the site and its creamy goodness and try to hold back the tears of joy as it becomes clearer we are entering this new age of political activism and awareness.

Love!
Carla

P.S. A big hug from San Diego goes out to SuperForester Niki.  We all wish you a very happy birthday!!!

ObamArt

I love Obama. You love Obama. Your mama loves Obama; the entire world loves Obama. The president-elect of the United States hasn’t taken his office yet but he already has achieved a cult status. According to this post on Coolhunting he is featured in numerous artworks. Even street art. I love this one:

The mural is situated in Los Angeles and was created by the mysterious Mr. Brainwash. (For the people unfamiliar with Rosa Parks, Ms. Parks was a woman who, on December 1st 1955, refused to give up her bus seat to another person when she was ordered to do so. This action got a ball rolling that resulted in black and white persons being declared equal in the eyes of the law. She was remembered here at SuperForest last week.)
As a result of Park’s action Martin Luther King could speak up, and because King spoke Obama got the possibility to be accepted as presidential candidate. That’s the basic thing the mural is implying, it’s a chain reaction actually.
If you’ve spotted your own, local piece of Obama Art we would of course love to know.

"Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are"

Howdy SuperForest!
Here’s a little video discussing what some Obama supporters have been doing now that their candidate has been elected:

Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are

SuperForest itself has posted well over 50 posts mentioning President Elect Barack Obama, what ever will we do?

Have a great day!
Iman.
