An Eye in the Ocean

Hello SuperForest!

I have some exciting and very cool news for you. The very first internet connect ocean observatory is being installed off the coast of Canada by Neptune Canada! The news comes fresh from Times Colonist from Victoria & Vancouver Islands. Right now, this fall, the engineers and scientists working on the project are putting the final pieces together. They are working in the Endeavour Ridge, a very deep and volcanic region, to set up the final bits of cabling. This research project will give scientists new and possibly revolutionary data on an region we humans know little about, especially when it comes to underwater life and energy consumption free of sunlight, and it gives us curious people of the world the opportunity to take a peek into the mysterious ocean world we see so rarely. They are also going to be upgrading the ocean floor research robot, Wally I, with a new model called, of course, Wally II. This is so very exciting, and I cannot wait to see some of the first images come live! They should makes some pretty rad screen-savers!

Wally II!!!
