Morning Glory Clouds

mg1

Hi everyone,

Did you guys know there was such a thing as Morning Glory clouds? Kinda sounds kinky, doesn’t it?  These strange tubular clouds remain somewhat a mystery, even to NASA. They can stretch for up to 1000 kilometres (6.21 miles) across the sky. Wikipedia calls them a “rare meterological phenomenon” and the above example occurred in 1993 at Kangaroo Point, Northern Oz. Nature never fails to amaze.

Thanks to IT guru and SuperForester Dan for pointing these out. See more amazing Morning Glory clouds here.
