Karen Armstrong: “Charter for Compassion”

Good Morning, SuperForest!

A few months ago, religious scholar and author, Karen Armstrong, gave an amazing TED Talk on the importance of compassion and the concept of treating others the way you would like to be treated. As beautifully described by Armstrong, “it is in both these concepts that we can overcome the obstacles of inter-faith dialogue” for at its essence, nearly every religion on this planet shares these ideals.

Later, Armstrong took the stage again giving her customary plea for the creation of a global charter for compassion, an open source document authored by people all over the world, and just a couple days ago, it was announced that the charter was finally created. Needless to say, I was very excited, and upon reading it, I could literally feel my heart elevate.

Here is the charter, read to us by some beautiful fellow be-ings:

Love!
