In 1973, the Jamaican film “The Harder They Come” starring now Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff (of “I can see clearly now” fame), was released in the USA.  And while the film itself (based on the true story of a poor musician who turns to a life of crime), is cult classic good, the soundtrack is largely considered the breakthrough that brought reggae music to a mass audience in America.

If you’ve never heard it, you must.  Every track is an absolute gem.  But in light of Carla and Jaell’s personal posts this week, I thought I’d follow suit with this song:
