Heyo, SuperForest!
For over 250 years the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) has been a “cradle of enlightenment thinking and a force for social progress”, and they’ve been doing a superb job of uploading their genius talks and ideas onto YouTube for all to feast upon. A chain of links was what brought me to this particular video that I’m about to share with you today, but before I do that, here is a quick little introduction…
Despite having little knowledge of who Jeremy Rifkin was, a quick read of the title “The Emphatic Civilization: Rethinking Human Nature in the Time of the Biosphere Era” was all that was needed to get me to hit the play button. The video that ensued was not only insanely captivating and smart, but it practically screams “The SuperForest Humanifesto” as he investigates the evolution of empathy and the profound ways that it has shaped our development and our society.
You need to watch this. Seriously.
