Good Day, SuperForest! Happy Friday!
I realize that upon my return from my trip to Europe, I kind of hit the ground running. Many times we have told you that exciting projects are in the making, and perhaps now is a great time to tell you more about them in our…
very first SuperForest Newsletter!!!
A perfect way to get all the juicy updates on the work we are doing here at SF.

I feel like this summer, SuperForest is on the cusp of an incredible adventure. For several months now, projects and ideas have been fermenting; a tidal wave of thoughts, inventions, stories, and projects has been on the rise and I can literally feel the excitement and positivity that has been carrying it. Time and time again several ideas have gone through several refinements and now, during the summer of 2009, we are beginning to put some of these ideas to action! Ideas and concepts that have blossomed from the very ideals SuperForester Jackson planted back in October of 2007! Ideals he restated in a blog post earlier this week; ideals that encourage peace, positivity, and flexibility.
Flexibility…this has been something that I’ve personally had to adapt to. Being the kind of person that has always been organized and has a plan, I was constantly asking myself, where’s SuperForest going? What are the goals? But the time I’ve spent writing for this blog has taught me to let go and let the awesome powers of the universe take this website wherever it is meant to go. Daoists call it wu wei, and it is a very beautiful thing. At the very core of everything I’ve learned while being on this team, there is one fundamental truth. When SuperForester Jackson mentioned what I had said about “SuperForest being a documentation of the Journey” it was based upon the assertion I made that SuperForest is not a destination. There is no endpoint. There is no final product. There is only growth. There is only progress toward bigger and better ideas. The SuperForest blog is a way for us to all document that progress. And the concept of “SuperForest” in general, is simply a manner of living. As I’ve mentioned before, a SuperForester is anyone who embraces that manner of living and makes it their own.

So, with all of this in mind, let’s jump right into some SuperForest News! Several weeks ago, I agreed to become more involved with the workings of SuperForest while SuperForesters Jackson and Bee developed Eco-Tech school. So basically, nothing much would change apart from the fact that I’d ensure lovely new posts were being shared each and every day. It was and has been such a blast, but let me tell you, the work and postings Jackson puts up on this site daily is something to marvel at. It is something surprisingly time consuming and difficult (at least for a rookie like me) but he seems to handle it with the grace of a tight rope walker and I feel it is something that deserves a bit of recognition every now and then. So thank you, Jackson! You are a shining light. And as Aaron so wonderfully displayed, it’s a pleasure to have you posting again.
In addition to regular posting, several SuperForesters have joined forces to tackle some pretty incredible projects. Here is a little taste of each of the ones that have currently been in the works! (Click on the titles to see the latest post)
I’ll start with the most exciting one. Earlier, SuperForester Jackson shared with us an incredible glimpse into this brilliant project. I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say I cannot wait to see this project develop and at this point, I am absolutely positive it will be a smashing success. In case you missed it, here is the introduction post!
: SuperForest’s quest to globalize the words of the Humanifesto by translating it into as many languages as possible is still running smoothly and the translations coming in are still flowing! I am so very grateful for the kind souls that have contributed. As of now, we have a grand total of 16 languages with a few more in the works as we speak!
: Yes, I know, it’s been an incredibly long time sine we’ve heard of any updates, but the roots of the blogging coalition are deeply set in place and as a result, donations continue to come in for our Save a Seed fundraising goal and we are fast approaching the homestretch for our goal of $3,000!
: SuperForest is working double time to bring you some great interviews. I know SuperForester Chris, in particular, has a couple interviews lined up that are going to be extremely exciting, so keep a weather eye out!
: SuperForesters April and I have teamed up to find SuperForesty websites and join forces. At this point, we are still compiling the list of potential partners and as always, our arms are wide open to receiving any suggestions.
So that’s pretty much it, SuperForest! I know it’s a long list, and being heavily involved in a lot of these projects kind of scared the heck out of me at first, but at the same time it’s all extremely exciting. And although tasks such as those could easily seem daunting, I realize that we do not face them alone. SuperForest truly prides itself in its collaborations and connections to its readers. It’s a collective, powerful force and I greatly appreciate any contributions or comments you may have given. As always, if ever you have any recommendations or comments for these projects or anything related to SuperForest , please share them. Together, we’ll make the site expand and spread some of that SuperForest cheer to all the corners of this planet. Collaboration is key, and we are so honored to be working with all of you beautiful SuperForesters. I am filled with optimism and hope.
Love and gratitude to all!
Team SuperForest

(P.S. I completely forgot to mention that the wonderful and talented SuperForester Iman is to thank for the beautiful header and footer on this post! Thanks, Imanza!)
