Heather’s Journal: Let’s stop limiting ourselves!

Hello SuperForest!

Get out the tissues and get ready to go into “the ugly cry” — Caroline Casey is going to tell you why you should stop saying “I can’t”, and start living your dreams!

Why do we place limits upon ourselves? Why are we afraid to do what we love? Do something meaningful? Break out of the box and be different? Realize who we are and really be that person?

Caroline’s TED Talk is the most inspiring talk I’ve ever seen and heard on TED. Enjoy!

The Greenhorns

In keeping with today’s topic of young farmers, we proudly present the trailer to the upcoming documentary “The Greenhorns”

The Greenhorns chronicles the trials and successes of young farmers all over the US.

The film’s director Severine Von Tscharner Fleming, has this to say about the film:

“We are making a film about young farmers, their struggle and their valor.
The redemptive force that they have, for our society.
For our culture.
For our agriculture.
For our countryside.
For our nation…”

Beautiful, inspiring, hopeful.

These are great times we are living in, my friends. Seems that starting a farm is the new starting a band.

Here is their website where you can watch the trailer much larger, learn more about the film crew, donate to help them get the word of the film out, and nominate local farmers to be featured in the doc: theGreenhorns.net

Amazing Artist: Jacqui Chanarin

Good Morning All!

Last night, SF went to an amazing poetry reading in Brooklyn, and there met an incredibly fresh young artist. We got on like a porcelain house on fire.

Her name is Jacqui Chanarin. A Londoner by way of South Africa, Ms. Chanarin creates the most beautiful petite porcelain sculptures.

Check ‘em out:

Aren’t they wonderful?! And each could rest cozily in the palm of your hand. Minty.

Apart from being super-cute and nice smelling, Jacqui is also an incredibly polite and interesting person. People like that must be supported.

Luckily, you can easily support Ms. Chanarin by heading over to the New Museum, (which you should do anyway,) and by purchasing one of her pieces from the museum store downstairs, which she assured me was one of the better museum stores in town.

I hope y’all like her stuff as much as we do!

Jacqui Chanarin is represented by eyestorm in London

And she’s got her own site: Chopped Liver

Isn’t it exciting to have so many talented people around, producing so much tasty art?
We certainly think so.

Have a great Wednesday.

Love to all,

-SFNYC
