Hi, SuperForest! This just came in from the very wonderful SuperForester Sheri. Normally, I’d give some sort of introduction as to what she’s sharing with us but in her case, she did such an excellent job, I figured we could just dive in.
As a student of Buddhist philosophy, I’m always actively looking for “teachers”. Bits of enlightenment to help me on my way along the path and to bring about a better understanding of the big picture.
Admittedly, I’ve never been a big fan of Jim Carrey…until now. Hesitant and fearing I would see a Dumb and Dumber existentialist spoof I clicked play and was (pardon-the pun) dumbfounded. The actor as I have never seen him before bearing a candor and humility made me sit up and listen. In this video clip, he shares his process of “getting it”…of understanding the power and omnipotent connectedness we share with our world, and discovering the true nature of his existence.
The universe, he explains, and all that it contains is one.
Only our perception is that of ego and self. When we are open to the idea of an all-encompassing life-force then we can see how intention brings us to where we are and how we got there. We are microcosms of the larger universe, and human consciousness and the physical world are connected. If we break free from old ways of thinking and seeing everything around us we can let go to embark on a journey of discovery and re-creation; changing ourselves and our planet, individually and collectively.
Jim Carrey so eloquently defines this idea with ice-like clarity…. brilliantly.
We have the capacity and raw energy to choose and in that choice, regardless of anything else around us, to feel good, to become fully awakened – to become, “The Man”.
