Cardboard Love in a Digital World

cardboardloveheader

Okay so I know this is really really sappy and girly but considering the fact that exactly 80% of the people who have filled out the SuperForest Survey so far are lady SuperForesters (Come on, guys! Gentlemen SuperForesters are waaay behind!), I figured I could get away with posting this.

Cardboard love is a website that is home to hundreds of sweet little love notes a guy named Joey writes for his girlfriend, Maria. And he writes those little notes on pieces of cardboard. Now, when I first read about this, I was a bit of a skeptic. I mean, so much of this idea could turn out to be incredibly corny (and it very well may still be…) but when I visited the site and read his words, I couldn’t help but let out a big, “Awwwwwww!!!!”

So now it’s our turn. Make someone’s day by telling them how special they are to you. Express yourself! Maybe even give them a bit of validation! Because if Joey can make us smile without us even knowing him, imagine the smiles you can create by giving out these sort of messages to the people that are close to you. In the end, it’ll probably make your day, too!

And as a simple reminder…

It’s true!!!!

DIY: How to say I love you

Hello SuperForest,
I found this lovely video on YouTube today and thought I’d share it with you all. “Nicola is sitting on a bench reading a book* when she is approached by Sam, an intrusive boy who strikes up an unusual and intimate conversation with her. The film identifies Nicola and Sams mutual feelings of lonliness and isolation, which partly stems from being part of a generation that would rather communicate through the internet than in person.” (Taken from YouTube)
