Good morning, SuperForest!
It is 12:15 am Pacific time and my cousin Nika and I decided to make some horchata (as one normally does at this hour). The first time we made this tasty treat was about a year ago, and after pouring the beverage into a pitcher and lifting it up to pour into the tall glasses, the pitcher’s handle broke and all of the horchata spilled into the sink. We hadn’t tried to make it since…that is, until today!
Equipped with a brand new pitcher, we dove right into the preparations.

Ingredients: (For six portions)
- 9 ounces of rice
- 34 ounces of water
- 1 cup of evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup of peeled almonds
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- Sugar
Step 1: Soak the rice in the water for about two hours.

Step 2: Blend all the ingredients well.

Step 3: Strain the mixture.

Step 4: Serve with lots of ice and enjoy.

And that’s it! Super simple and super delicious. Especially when it doesn’t all spill into the sink!!! Yaay!
Love to all you awesome cats,
C
