Why, hello SuperForest!
I just spent the last 15 or so minutes transferring honey from the jar on the right (see below) to the squeezable bottle on the left, using nada but a spoon! At first, I ruled out this option knowing it would take a little effort, but it was the most relaxing thing I’ve done today. Yes, a funnel would have been easy but using a spoon, I really had to consider the logistics, as in, after scooping up a tablespoon of honey, and twirling it around, then holding it near the lip of the bottle, how far should I position the spoon and which angle will serve me best to prevent the golden sweetness from cascading down, missing the opening and trickling down my wrist?
While making the honey transfer, I thought about what I love most about honey. I love its pace, the slow speed with which it oozes is really captivating to me. I love the way it takes its time, and, in this sense, I’d like to be more like honey. May this viscous nectar remind you to slow down every now and then and appreciate just how sweet it is to be alive.
