Good Morning SuperForest!
Today, Julius and I paid a visit to the 4fives at their Brooklyn lair, P.S. 58.
It was a smashing good time. We did a nice deep breathing exercise where we pictured ourselves sitting on a green, grassy lawn, thinking happy thoughts, with the golden sunshine pouring down and covering our very bodies. With lots of deep breaths giving us a wee oxygen high, we then linked that happy, relaxed feeling with a physical gesture. In this case it was the good old “okay” index and thumb circle.
With practice, making (or even seeing) this hand signal will involuntarily cause you to pause, take a deep breath and enjoy a rush of happy chemicals into your brain, (which can come in handy when you are feeling tired or cranky and need a boost.)
Then, Maestro Julius taught us all how to say “please” “thank you” “yes” and “no” in Dutch.
“Yes is Ja, (sounds like “yah”).
No is Nee, (sounds like “nay”).
Please is Asjeblieft, (sounds like “I should believe”).
Thank you is Dankjewel, (sounds like “donkey well”).”
Then Julius and Bee and I all worked with the 4fives on a post for their wonderful blog about the words Julius taught them. Here’s that very post.
It was a great day, with lots of learning done by all.
Check out the 4fives blog. It be rad.
Much love to All,
-Jackson
