SuperForest Calendar: “May I Be Frank” Film Screening (5/23/10)

Good Morning, SuperForest!

It is with upmost pleasure and excitement that I announce to you the latest and greatest event brought to us by the Feeding the Soul Foundation! As always, the lovely goddesses that are putting this together are giving those of us in the Southern California area a chance to participate in our community. This time, it is through a May I Be Frank film screening tomorrow at Linksoul gallery in Oceanside!

Being that Jackson wrote a raving review about it not too long ago after viewing this film up in Los Angeles, I’m doubly grateful that this gives those of us in San Diego a wonderful opportunity to experience the awesomeness that is this film.

There will be a Q&A session with Frank and filmmakers after the movie and delicious goodies from Jitters Coffee Pub will be available for those who attend, and if those two reasons aren’t enough to convince you to attend, get this, the Feeding the Soul Foundation is using this event as an opportunity to help raise money for SuperForest! Can you believe that?! After being on the “giving” end for as long as I’ve been a part of this blog, it felt kind of surreal and even touching to be on the “receiving” end. :)

Epic thanks go out to all who are helping make this event possible, it’s going to be amazing. SuperForesters Nika, Iman, and myself are planning to attend, if you plan on going, inshallah we will see you there!

SuperForest Calendar: “Muse-ic” (5/8/10)

Good Morning, SuperForest!

After several long days and even longer nights spent studying for midterms (on cult films, urban sociology, and aging, no less!), and after taking back to back exams this morning and coming straight home to catch up on some much needed rest, it feels fabulous to be back.

I’ve got some some great things to share with you guys, and I’m almost done sorting my thoughts on the friendship gratitude project I mentioned to you last week (do you guys have any suggestions as to what we should call it?) and am ready to get started with that, but first, a special announcement!

SuperForesters Vallie, Mel, and the friends of the Feeding the Soul Foundation are putting together another fantastic event here in San Diego. This time, their “Muse-ic” event will feature performances of four beautiful women and the proceeds are going to sponsor a few astounding young ladies to attend the Rock and Roll Camp for Girls.

Not long ago, SuperForest attended the Feeding the Soul benefit concert, created by the same fabulous souls. The fabulous people, and pure concentration of love and compassion felt in that room was beyond words. If this is anything like that, which I’m sure it will be, I speak from the heart when I say this is worth attending if you are above the age of 21, and are in the Southern California region (and maybe even if you’re not) this Saturday.

Here are the event details:

“Muse-ic”
May 8, 2010
@ The Onyx Room (852 5th Avenue, San Diego)
with music from special guests..
.
Tristan Prettyman
MC Flow

So much love,

C
