Dominic Hargreaves: “The Contortionist” Foldable Bike

I’ve seen several foldable bike models over the years but I believe this one takes the cake. 24-year-old Royal College of Art student, Dominic Hargreaves, recently created “The Contortionist”, and apart from its wicked name, this bike is the first I’ve seen that folds into a package that is no larger than the diameter of the 26 inch wheels!

Unsurprisingly, the design has been creating such a fuss that The Guardian reports it will likely be one of those rare items that “move directly from design student project into the shops.” Amazing!

Here’s a video displaying just how beautiful this bike really is.

In response to the bike’s appearance, Hargreaves once said, “There’s a danger of sounding pretentious, but I really wanted to design something that was not only practical but beautiful, that you’d desire.”

Mr. Hargreaves, I think it’s pretty safe to say you succeeded.
