Britain from above

When I was in the Museum of Modern Art (New York) a few months ago I saw Design And The Elastic Mind. A really great exhibition. Anyway, one of the pieces that was shown there was a satellite image of the United States with a view of the planes that fly above it on a daily basis.

Well, something similar has been done to Britain. With the BBC documentary Britain From Above. Helped by technologies such as GPS a team of experts created stunning images like the one below (which shows airplanes that cruise the country).

For the non-British the content on the official site isn’t available. Good for us that techblog Gizmodo put up some of the BBC’s eyecandy. The images are really good; not to speak of the videos.

MOMA: Design and the Elastic Mind

NYMOMA has an incredible exhibit up right now about future-tech and design that is so mesmerizing and inspiring it requires multiple visits to appreciate fully.

After walking through and perusing the displays, we left feeling very good about the future of our species, and that is a very good thing.

Here are some of the images we shot with our iPhone:

Flabbergasting and thrilling.

Humans are so creative and ingenious. We’re glad to be a part of that team.

Go and see Design and the Elastic Mind at MOMA, running through May 12th.

Love to all.
