Global Oneness Project

Heyo, SuperForest!

A while back I stumbled upon this website and this organization, and I’ve been meaning to share its art and its message ever since. Not only do I love documentary films, I also love docs that spread important messages.  The Global Oneness Project “produces films, media and educational materials which explore how the simple notion of interconnectedness can be lived in today’s complex world.” Simply put, they are amazing.

Their next imminent release is a film entitled “Elemental”, which discusses the subject of water in our world:

For their film, “A Thousand Suns”, they were awarded many acclaims in the film industry, winning at least 10 different awards.

After watching this sneak peek of “A Thousand Suns”, I literally began to weep while listening to the Ethiopian men speaking about their interconnectedness with nature. After learning about how they govern the Gamo area, I thought to myself, “Why do we not do the same?” Modernization has been good for us in many ways, but there is a lot to be said for the old ways, the ways that nourish the soul and connect us to our universe.

What does global oneness mean to you, SuperForest? Do you ever question why we are so divided in so many aspects of our lives, when really we are all one? I think about this a lot.

How do we embrace modernization while also respecting cultural traditions? I am now seeking a greater understanding of this issue, especially with respect to the First Nations people in my country. I feel like I am beginning to glimpse how difficult it must be for Aboriginal tribes to survive and flourish in our modern, technological world.

I think we’re already working towards global oneness just by being connected internationally through SuperForest. What do you think? Let’s try to keep sharing important messages, because after all, it is called “the world wide web”, and why not make modernization and technology work for us?! Let’s spread the message that we are all connected.

At the risk of being repetitive and/or redundant, I must share this again for anyone who has not seen it:

Yours in interconnectedness,

SuperForester Heather
