Good evening SuperForest,
There’s this amazing thing that a man by the name of Stephen Malinowski has created. View an example here:
At first glance, it’s nothing short of amazing. However, once I read about the logic surrounding the coloring scheme, I was amazed. It’s a little tricky to understand if you have limited technical knowledge about music, but basically he assigned color values based on tonality. Put simply, the more similar in hue two notes are, the more consonant (“nice” sounding) they are. In other videos, however, the coloring has less technical value. Different colors, for example, could represent different instruments in an ensemble, as seen here:
I was never very interested in classical music, but this is something else. It’s engaging, and it’s the only true way of visualizing music that I’ve seen. It beats any music “visualizer” any day of the week! If you’ve never been very passionate about classical music, like me, then this is a very cool introduction to the realm. Sit back and enjoy.

Have a great one,
