Good morning, SuperForest!
I’m just stoppin’ in to let you know how the Walk For Water event went down. At 11am, a big group of friends and strangers met at Bondi Beach, Sydney. We started off with a speech from Aveda’s main man, who then led the group in a series of stretches to get our legs and brains ready for the 6km coastal walk. Though the weather’s becoming progressively cold in Sydney, this particular Sunday was nice and hot, with lots of sunshine and a few nice ‘n’ fluffy clouds. I’d like to thank my pal SuperForester Stella for joinging me for this most excellent event (who also shot some awesome video which I forgot to save before wiping my camera’s memory – bummer!). Post-walk, all sweaty and endorphin-fueled, we sat on a patch of grass and indulged in organic vegie and beef hotdogs. With a recyclable cup filled with tasty OJ to finish!
Getting ready to head off along the famous Bondi to Bronte coastal walk.
This past Earth Month, Aveda held more than 130 walks around the world, with the aim of increasing awareness of the global clean water crisis. According to its website, the company exceeded its goal of raising $3.5 million for global and local clean water projects.
Love to you all,
April
