Change is Good

Hello Superforesters everywhere! It has been a while since I have posted, mainly because I recently moved to a new city and have been getting settled. During this time, some things have been exhilarating and exciting, others frenetic and stressful! However, recently I received some great advice from a few wise souls who helped me put my postivity hat back on and realize that change is good. I decided to share some of this wisdom with all of you, as it really helped me to see my new situation in a positive light, and allowed me to take some time and reflect on my recent changes.

You have a blank slate in front of you waiting for you to paint your masterpiece.
This is so true. Whenever you make a change in your life, whether you see it as good or bad in the moment, as you reflect on it, you can realize that it truly is a blank slate. Really, each day is a blank slate, is it not? Or each moment, for that matter.

When it comes down to it, all struggle in life presents beautiful opportunities and at the very least, opportunities for self-reflection or improvement.
When I think about all of the times in my life where things seemed negative, I can also look back and realize that I learned some of my most profound lessons about myself and the world around me during those times.

The only thing that ever separates us in the moment from “being love” is simply the choice to be love.
This speaks to the fact that every moment is a blank slate. I once read a book called Happiness is a Choice, and the title certainly rings true in life. “Being love” will allow us to be in the moment and choose happiness for ourselves. That happiness will then emanate to others around us. It’s a win-win!

When you embrace loss and change you open yourself up to such a wealth of potential.
Whatever you have lost lately, or whatever has changed in your life, it is very true that once you embrace it, you are much stronger for it — you can move on, you can realize the other opportunities that might come to you now, had you not experienced a loss, you might not have had these opportunities arise.

There is no one youer than you
This really struck a chord with me. Whenever you are feeling down or stressed, experiencing a change or a crazy situation, remembering your uniqueness really does help boost the ol’ ego. YOU are the one thing you have to offer this world that NO ONE ELSE can offer!

Alas, my super-self-help/new age post has come to a close, but I hope it has brought you some peace, clarity and a chance to grow. Many thanks to the wise souls who passed on their wisdom.

Yours in change,
Superforester Heather
